Description
this week's theme is: passing on wisdom.

or, in another phrase, getting schooled

maybe you're passing down the knowledge you've gained from 100 compos years, or maybe you're getting pummeled by the apotheosis of introspection.

write a song about it

-----

  • allotted time: One week
  • what to submit: ONE (original, remix, or whatever) tunes, in response to the theme.
  • Songs cannot be longer than 8 minutes. (Anything longer will be skipped and/or deleted.)

  • PLEASE enable downloads on your entry. Even if you think your entry is bad, someone in the chat may think otherwise. (also it helps to prevent archive decay, since a TB mod can grab a copy and archive it.)

Coltranedolphy datwhiteperson 6/12/2014 12:12:39am No.3 - Score: 1
examining hip-hop rhythms by comparison with jazz. Where jazz has more 'filling' in the space between the kick and snare, made possible by extra snare flams and open cymbals, some hip-hop has taken the liberty of doing away with this sort of filling. Yet, the feeling of swing is still preserved.

hip-hop is master race join the dark side.

I'm fairly new here (I first appeared in ER414 in February)

Hello Snowdrop 6/13/2014 2:09:36am No.6 - Score: 1
Dear Toast Beard,

Snowdrop here has been listening to Toast Beard Compos for nearly half a year now and she wanted to say a few words. I am uploading it on her behalf, since she is blind and cannot see the screen.

Sincerely

Let's Go And Meet The Bronies 8-Bit (UNFINISHED) TF2Brony 6/14/2014 1:55:26pm No.10 - Score: 1
Ok, so I never got to finish this in time, but I got most of it done. It cuts off right before Tara Strong's part in the original song. I'll finish it and put it on my YouTube channel eventually.

Lyrics for the original (In case you don't know) are provided on this deviantArt page:

Nothing Midimistro 6/14/2014 2:50:12pm No.11 - Score: 0
The song title is what it says it is. Its one of the lessons I learned from Toastbeard after gaining a little experience. I couldn't decide on what to do for this week so I decided I would do a song about nothing (aka, nothing is in the song). Hope you enjoy a relaxing 30 seconds of scilence. :)

“Nothing, Everything, Anything, Something: If you have nothing, then you have everything, because you have the freedom to do anything, without the fear of losing something.”

101 Ways to Teach Scootaloo KingsleyEvergreen 6/14/2014 3:22:28pm No.12 - Score: 0
"Know that everypony really believes in you.
Hard work is the only way to see it through.
Rainbow's and clouds will meet you in the ever blue sky.
Spread those orange wings and fly."

I have no idea where this came from, so no surprise there.
Scootaloo is cute and apparently auto corrects to Tuscaloosa.
Have great day.

Though in all honestly if I were to get sentimental and stuff I would probably say that the toastbeards are the reason I still make music and continue to advance in skill, also the reason I met so many awesome people that inspired me yada yada something about leadership and ponies.
